Description of Svolobu

Svolobu has 3 single beds. In the morning you wake up to a view of Olevannet and the mountains, through the large panoramic window on the entire short side wall of the cottage. If it’s a little chilly, you can light up the fire in the original «girl’s room – the wood stove». Here, peaceful morning hours or late evening hours can be enjoyed to the sound of crackling wood and to views of pure and peaceful nature. 

Location

Svolobu is located by itself on the field between Huldrebu and Fjøset. Small campfire outside the cottage. With a nice view to Olevannet and the mountains.

If you are more than 3, you can add more cabines. We have an another bedroom cabin. It is called Huldrebu, it has a double bed. And is located a little below Svolobu. In addition, there is the “old” mountain house where there can be room for 4 people and the “new” mountain house that can accommodate more people. Up to 8 pepple. All the cabins are scattered and undisturbed in relation to each other.

Facilities

There is a water tap and fire pit at the area. In addition, an outdoor toilet that you have access to.

As with all stables, there is also a barn. This barn is perhaps a little different. There has been a slight upgrade to the function room / living room / dining room. Here there is a large and nice fireplace, seating for dining and coziness. Kitchen with gas stove and refrigerator. This can also be rented with, if desired.

Stories and Activities

Otherwise on Olestølen, there are still grazing animals that go and enjoy themselves freely in the area in the summer. Both goats, cows and sheep. This is an old mountain farm area where the farms belong to farms located in the village, Skammestein and Dale.

Myhre Gård also arranges horseback riding trips that goes from the stable in Skammestein up to this mountain farm called Ole stølen, or in the surrounding area. These trips can be nicely combined with accommodation.

In winter, there are beautiful ski trails that goes straight out from the area. With different lengths of rounds and different levels of difficulty. In the summer there are paths that run along Olevannet. Here you can also swim, paddle with kayak trails that go up the mountain with a view to Jotunheimen. Olestølen is a fantastic starting point for activity in nature both summer, autumn, winter and spring. Perfect for glamping with activities!
